Linocut Printmaking Workshop

Instructor: Alison Storey

Learn the bold and expressive art of linocut printmaking. In this hands-on workshop, participants will carve their own design into linoleum blocks and print multiple impressions by hand. Explore mark-making, contrast, and composition while creating striking prints using coloured water based inks and a variety of papers. Supplies included. Students should bring a sketch book 8x10 or larger and a pen or pencil. The process is messy and it is recomended to wear paint freindly clothing, baby wipes or a rag. Limited to 10 participants

Gel Plate Printmaking

Unleash your creativity in our Gel Plate Printmaking Workshop, where art meets innovation and skill building is fun! Led by expert Alison Storey, this workshop allows you to explore vibrant designs using gel plates in a community-focused environment.

Gel plate printing is a fun and accessible method of creating vibrant layered prints. Using acrylic paint, stencils, and found textures, participants will experiment with colour, pattern, and composition to build beautiful, unpredictable prints. No drawing experience required.

• Hands-on workshop suitable for all experience levels.

• Led by expert instructor Alison Storey to guide your creative process.

• All materials provided to create your unique prints.

About Andrew Johnson, headliner:

Based in Los Angeles but hailing from Brockville, Ontario, Andrew Johnston is a veteran Canadian stand-up comic who has toured coast to coast. He's made multiple appearances at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival, The Netflix Is A Joke Festival in Los Angeles, San Francisco's Sketch Comedy Festival and held court for several years as one of the regulars on MuchMusic’s Video On Trial. He created, produced and hosted Toronto's famed Queer comedy showcase Bitch Salad at Buddies In Bad Times Theatre in Toronto and was a member of the Laugh Sabbath comedy collective at Comedy Bar from 2015-2019. He has four number 1 comedy albums, 2014’s White Devil, 2018’s Sips Tea, 2021’s A Special Place In Hell and 2024’s Pomp & Circumcised in frequent rotation on all of SiriusXM's North American comedy channels and can be seen on the premiere edition of Hey Qween’s premiere edition of Comedy Qweens on WOW Presents. He recently earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for his work on Crave’s Roast Battle Canada and co-hosts the weekly live show.

Some friendships are forged on the road. Séan McCann and Jeremy Fisher met in the lounge of a dusty tour bus behind an arena in Sudbury. Within minutes, they had guitars in hand and began co-writing their first song together. Their last proper co-headline tour was in 2011. Now, in 2026 they're bringing it back together with United in Song; a revue of their best and most beloved music. Séan and Jeremy will step on stage at the same time, trading tunes and backing each other up. If you like acoustic guitars, Irish hand drums, tin whistles, big heartfelt singalongs, and good stories, this show is for you. 

United in Song is a deliberate act of joyful resistance. In a world increasingly mediated by screens, algorithms, and artificial intelligence, Séan and Jeremy are making the case — loudly, melodically, and with considerable charm — that one of the most life-affirming human experiences is when real artists, play real songs, for real people, in a real room.

The Festival of Small Halls Presents: The Maywoods are an Ottawa Valley-based quartet dedicated to honouring and performing the songs and music of legendary singer-songwriter John Prine. Formed in 2023, the band features Vicki Brittle, Tyler Craig, Nathan Sloniowski and Jessica Winskell. Known for their rich harmonies, multi-instrumental arrangements and storytelling, The Maywoods share Prine’s catalogue through heartfelt interpretations and sing-alongs.
