In this workshop, create luminosity and mystery through the practice of layering. You will learn how to build strata of paint, alternating thick and thin, scraping, floating and glazing, balancing translucent and opaque for effects of glow and luminosity. Inspired by William Turner’s dashing and daring sky and weather-dominated landscapes, fresh and modern even to contemporary eyes, learn how Turner worked on site preparatory to the large work. Oil with acrylic underlayers or acrylic or watercolour. All levels. Reference notes and materials list will be sent upon registration.
