LISA FREE
Lisa Free is a Canadian artist celebrated for ethereal, calming waterscapes that capture the essence of minimalism. Her work is deeply influenced by the 1000 Islands region of Canada, particularly the shimmering allure of the St. Lawrence River. Coming from a highly artistic family, she has always found creative expression to be second nature.
In her paintings, she uses intuitive color palettes and gestural paint applications, focusing on conveying scenes as minimally as possible, free from unnecessary detail. Stripping down each composition allows her to share a tranquil perspective on nature that invites viewers into a space of reflection and serenity.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous prominent art exhibitions and group shows and has also been featured in Arabella Art Magazine and Blank Space Magazine.
Following a 15-year career as a wardrobe attendant and supervisor in Toronto's vibrant theatre scene, she transitioned to full-time painting, now celebrating 15 years as a sought after artist. Her paintings have found their way to dedicated collectors around the world, and she is honored to continue exploring the beauty and simplicity of water through her work.
